Humanity

Oh humanity,

How complex you have become

How intricately your endless branches grow

creating colors unimaginable

Oh sound of music through your leaves

spreading laughter like wildfire

A flowering canopy of fireworks and roots of blood and earth

Oh humanity, how I love your heart.

Oh humanity,

How volatile you are

How vigorously your boiling passion rages

burning blindly with the determination of instinct

Oh hiss of hatred, sour and strong

Penetrating flesh and blood with acid venom

Anger like lava and sorrow like rain, ignorance like an infected blanket

Oh humanity, how I fear your power.

Oh humanity,

How powerful do you want to be?

How many trees can you burn

before the splintering crack of death is your own?

Oh humanity, feel the breath of life fill your giant lungs

release your divisive artillery and embrace one another

Let hope and love and understanding and -

Truth, unite us all.
